Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela (1918-2013) was a South African anti-apartheid revolutionary, political leader, and philanthropist who spent over 27 years in prison for his activism against apartheid. He played a pivotal role in ending racial segregation and inequality, becoming South Africa's first Black president in 1994 and winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993.
