Barack Hussein Obama II (born August 4, 1961) served as the 44th President of the United States from January 20, 2009, to January 20, 2017. He was the first African American president and a former community organizer, civil rights attorney, and Illinois state senator. His presidency was marked by significant legislative achievements such as the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare), withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, and efforts to address climate change through policies like the Clean Power Plan.
