Galatia refers to a historical region in central Anatolia, corresponding roughly to the modern-day area of northwestern Turkey. It was originally inhabited by Celtic (Galatian) tribes who migrated from the Balkans around the 3rd century BCE. The region became known for its unique cultural blend of Celtic traditions with local Anatolian influences.
