Washington is a state located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States, known for its diverse geography ranging from rugged coastlines and dense forests to mountain ranges and arid plateaus. It is bordered by Oregon to the south, Idaho to the east, and shares maritime borders with Canada's British Columbia. The state is named after George Washington, the first U.S. president.
