Thessaloniki

Thessaloniki (Greek: Θεσσαλονίκη) is the second-largest city in Greece and capital of the Central Macedonian region. Situated on the Thermaic Gulf, it is a major port and economic center with a rich history dating back to its founding by Philip II of Macedon in 316 BC. Known as the 'City of Golden Horn' for its harbor, Thessaloniki is also a significant cultural hub with notable Byzantine-era monuments and a vibrant modern atmosphere.
