The central religious text of Islam, believed by Muslims to be the verbatim word of God (Allah), revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through the angel Gabriel. It is divided into 114 chapters (surahs) and comprises approximately 6236 verses (ayat). The Quran serves as a primary source of Islamic law, ethics, and worldview.
