It comprises the first five books of the Hebrew BibleGenesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy – traditionally attributed to Moses. Considered sacred scripture, it details creation, early Israelite history, laws, commandments (mitzvot), and covenant between God and Abraham/Moses.
