The Franco-Prussian War

A conflict (1870–1871) between France and Prussia, along with its German allies. Triggered by a diplomatic crisis over the succession to the Spanish throne, it resulted in a decisive Prussian victory and led Germany under Prussian leadership. The war significantly weakened France and reshaped the balance of power in Europe.
