Socrates

Socrates (c. 470 – 399 BCE) was a classical Greek philosopher credited as one of the founders of Western philosophy. He is known for his 'Socratic method,' a form of inquiry and discussion involving questioning to stimulate critical thinking and illuminate underlying presumptions. Socrates wrote nothing himself; our knowledge of him comes primarily from Plato's dialogues and Xenophon's accounts.
