Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu (1910-1997), known as Mother Teresa, was an Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary. Renowned for her tireless work among the poor and destitute in Kolkata (Calcutta), India, she founded the Missionaries of Charity, an order dedicated to serving those rejected and impoverished. Awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, she became a global symbol of compassion and selfless service.
