Lapis Lazuli

A deep-blue metamorphic rock used as a gemstone. Composed primarily of lazurite, along with calcite and pyrite, lapis lazuli has been prized since antiquity for its vibrant color and was often utilized in jewelry, decorative objects, and pigments (ultramarine).
