Lake Titicaca

Lake Titicaca is the largest lake in South America, situated high in the Andes Mountains on the border between Peru and Bolivia. Known as a sacred site by Inca mythology, it is notable for its high altitude (over 12,500 feet) and the presence of numerous islands, some inhabited by indigenous communities who maintain traditional cultures.
