Kairouan
Kairouan is a city in Tunisia, considered one of the oldest and holiest cities in Islam. Founded in 670 AD by Uqba ibn Nafi, it served as the first capital of the Islamic conquest of North Africa and remains an important religious center, known for its Grand Mosque (Masjid-i Uqba) and traditional crafts.
