Annaba (Arabic: عين الورق, romanized: ʻAyn al-Wark) is a major city in northeastern Algeria, located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Historically known as Hippo Regius, it was an important Roman city and a bishopric in the early Christian Church. Today, it's a significant port and industrial center.
