George Grenville (1712–1765) was a British statesman who served as Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1763 until his death in 1765. He is best known for implementing policies that increased taxation on the American colonies, most notably through the Stamp Act of 1765. These measures contributed to growing tensions between Britain and its American colonies.
