The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant is a defunct Nuclear Power station located near The city of Pripyat in northern Ukraine. It became infamous on April 26, 1986, when Reactor No. 4 suffered a catastrophic failure during a safety test, resulting in The worst Nuclear disaster in history. The explosion released large amounts of radioactive material into The atmosphere, leading to widespread environmental contamination and health impacts. The Plant was subsequently abandoned, with a significant portion of surrounding land designated as The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
