Ukraine

Ukraine is a country located in Eastern Europe, bordered by Russia to the east and south-east, Belarus to the north-east, Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary to the west, and Romania and Moldova to the south-west. It has a rich history spanning thousands of years, including periods under various empires and kingdoms such as the Kyivan Rus', Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Austrian Empire, Russian Empire, and Soviet Union. Ukraine is known for its diverse cultural heritage, fertile black soil plains (chernozem), and significant political developments since gaining independence in 1991.
