The War of the Roses
A series of dynastic wars fought in England from 1455 to 1487 between the House of Lancaster and the House of York, both branches of the Plantagenet dynasty. The conflict was triggered by disputes over the English throne and fueled by noble rivalries. It ended with Henry Tudor's victory at the Battle of Bosworth Field and his subsequent ascension as King Henry VII, uniting the houses through marriage and establishing the Tudor dynasty.
