The Thirty Years’ War

Thirty Years' War

A devastating conflict primarily fought in Central Europe from 1618 to 1648. Initially a religious dispute between Protestants and Catholics within the Holy Roman Empire, it evolved into a broader European power struggle involving major nations like France, Spain, Sweden, and Austria. The war resulted in widespread destruction, famine, and disease, significantly altering the political landscape of Europe and ending with the Peace of Westphalia.
