Suriname

Suriname is a country located on the northeastern coast of South America. Formerly known as Dutch Guiana, it is distinguished by its extensive rainforests covering more than three-quarters of the country’s land area, rich biodiversity, and a culturally diverse population composed primarily of Creole, Indian, Javanese, Maroon (descendants of escaped African slaves), and Dutch ethnic groups. Paramaribo serves as its capital city.
