Southern Ocean

The Southern Ocean, also known as the Antarctic Ocean, is the body of water surrounding Antarctica. It's defined by the convergence zone where cold, northward-flowing waters meet warmer subantarctic waters. It's recognized as an official ocean by the International Hydrographic Organization.
