Nazi Germany

Nazi Germany refers to the period in German history from January 30, 1933, when Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, until May 8, 1945, following the country's defeat in World War II. During this time, Nazi ideology dominated political life under Hitler’s leadership of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP). The regime was characterized by authoritarianism, militarization, aggressive expansionism, persecution of minorities—including Jews—and the implementation of policies that led to World War II and genocide.
