Lake Mälaren is a large, shallow lake in central Sweden, located between the Svealand and Norrland regions. It is one of the largest lakes in Sweden, covering an area of approximately 1,700 square kilometers and has a maximum depth of around 106 meters. The lake is connected to the Baltic Sea via the Södertälje Canal and plays a significant role in regional transportation, fishing, and recreation.
