Kragujevac is a city in central Serbia, serving as the administrative center of the Šumadija District. Historically significant, it was briefly proclaimed the capital of Serbia in 1815 during the First Serbian Uprising against Ottoman rule. Known for its industrial heritage, Kragujevac became a major center of arms production during the 19th century and played an important role in Serbia's military development. Today, it remains a vibrant urban area featuring cultural institutions such as museums and theaters, along with educational facilities including universities.
