Great Basin

A large, arid region in the western United States spanning parts of Nevada, Utah, California, Idaho, Oregon, and Wyoming. The Great Basin is defined by its interior drainage system, where rivers and streams flow inward rather than reaching an ocean, resulting in salt flats, playas, and closed basins. Its topography includes mountain ranges separated by valleys, forming a distinctive physiographic province.
