Florence Nightingale

Florence Nightingale (1820-1910) was an English social reformer and statistician, best known for her pioneering work in nursing. During the Crimean War, she organized a team of nurses to improve sanitation at British military hospitals, drastically reducing mortality rates. Her writings formed the basis for modern nursing practices and earned her the title 'The Lady with the Lamp'.
