Chlorine (Cl) is a greenish-yellow gas at room temperature and belongs to the halogen group of chemical elements. It is highly reactive, commonly used in disinfectants, bleaches, and the production of chemicals such as plastics (PVC) and pharmaceuticals. It is toxic and has a strong, pungent odor.
