Baptist

A Baptist is a member of a Protestant Christian denomination that emphasizes the autonomy of local congregations, believer's baptism by full immersion, and the authority of the Bible. Baptists trace their origins to 17th-century England but are now most prominently associated with the United States. They emphasize personal faith, congregational governance, and evangelism.
